Today, June 5, 2014; Jaya Varusha Vaikasi Maham, Vaikasi Brahmotsavam commenced at Ariyakudi Thiruvenkamudayan Thirukkoil. The utsavam will take place until June 19, 2014. Today, Nuthana Swarna Kavachathudan Asthana Kodiyettra Vizha took place grandly.
Ariyakudi is a town about 4 kms from Karaikudi. There is a Perumal temple in this town which is about 400 years old and this temple is called Then Thirupathi (Tirupathi of the South). The Perumal is called Thiruvenkatavudayan and Thayar is Alarmelmangai.
Other festivals in this temple include Thirumanjanam on Chithirai first day and Lord’s procession on Full Moon day in the same month (April-May) Brahmmotsavam in Vaikasi (May-June), Theppotsavam (June), Aadi Pooram in July-August, Gokhulashtami in August-September, Saturdays in the month of Purattasi (September-October), Vaikunda Ekadasi in December-January and Kalyanautsavam on Panguni Uthiram in March-April.
