The 5-day annual Theppotsavam at Sri Padmavathi Temple, Thiruchanoor commenced on June 8, 2014. On the first day, Sri Krishna along with His Ubhaya Nachiyars had purappadu around the mada streets before reaching the Padmasarovar (temple tank). Thereafter, the deities mounted on the beautifully illuminated Theppam and had purappadu from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm. Several hundreds of devotees witnessed the utsavam from the steps of the temple tank. The asthana vidwans played the nadaswaram and the temple archakas recited the Vedas.
