On July 15, 2014, Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam will be performed at Tirumala Sri Venkateswara in Tirumala on July 15. The holy thirumanjanam will commence by 6 am and conclude by 11am.

Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam is performed at Tirumala four times in a year – before Ugadi, Anivara Asthanam, Brahmotsavamas and Vaikuntha Ekadasi day. This time, it is as a prelude to Anivara Asthanam (annual accounting of the temple) scheduled to be held on July 17, 2014.

As part of Koil Thirumanjanam, the premises of sanctorum and the entire garbhagriham, including floors, ceilings and walls also will be cleaned and brushed well with water. The whole place was smeared with kunkum, champor, sandal paste, saffron and turmeric. After purificatory pujas, Naivedyams will be offered to the presiding deity. The pilgrims are allowed for darshan of Lord only after 12noon.

In view of this, all the arjitha sevas performed in Tirumala temple have been cancelled.
