Today, July 16, 2014; Jaya Varusha Aani/Aadi Sadayam, Day 3 of the ongoing Kodai Utsavam at Sri Adikesava Perumal Temple, Mylapore, was celebrated. Perumal and Ubhaya Nachiyars in separate Kedayams had purappadu grandly and majestically towards Peyazhwar Avathara Sthalam in Arundel Street. It is here that Peyahwar’s Avataram happened in the Holy Well. Being Sadayam, the masa thirunakshatram of Peyazhwar, the Azhwar also had purappadu alongwith Perumal and Thayars.
On reaching the mandapam, Sri Kesavan and Nachimargal were offered kumkumapoo paste, sandal paste and decorated extremely beautiful with a lot of flowers and gave oonjal sevai to bhaktas. Viniyogam were distributed and with this dancing Kodai Kesavan returned to temple.
Following this utsavam, on July 20, 2014, Vanabhojana Utsavam will take place for Sri Adikesava Perumal at Vanamamalai Mutt at Thiruvallikeni.
