On 4 October 2014, Jaya varusha Purattasi Thiruvonam, Theerthavaari was conducted in a grand manner at the Cauvery concluding the Purattasi month Brahmotsavam in Oppiliappan temple. In the morning, Sri Ponnappan and Bhoomidevi thaayar blessed the devotees in rathothsavam.
Later Swamy Sri Desikan purappadu took place and throughout the purappadu Swamy Sri Desikan did mangalasaasanam to Sri Ponnappan and Bhoomidevi thaayar who were followed by Chakrathalwar. This day also marking the thirunakshatram of Swamy Sri Desikan, thirumanjanam was performed in the banks of cauvery for Swamy Sri Desikan and Chakrathalwar, followed by theerthavaari. A huge crowd of astikas took part in this utsavam and had the blessings of Acharyan and Perumal Thaayar.
