On, 15 January 2015, Jaya Varusha Thai Visakam; Being Mahasankaranthi (Pongal), Sri Namperumal Purappadu took place in grand manner at Sri Ranganathaswami Temple, Srirangam. On this occasion, In the morning Sri Namperumal with Ubhaya Nachimar Purappadu to Sankaranthi Mandapam. Sankranthi mandapam which is located behind Tirumamani mandapam.Sri Nammazhwar ,Thirumangai Azwhar and Swami Ramanujar joins the purappadu to Sankaranthi Mandapam. There Thiruppavai Satrumurai took place in magnificent manner. In the evening around 4.30 P.M After theertham SriSathari NamPerumal returned to Moolasthanam. On the way Azhwars and Swami Ramanujar was given Mariyathai and Bahumanams. Lot of astikas took part in the purappadu and had the blessings of Divyadampatis.
