On,10 March 2015, Jaya Varusha Masi Swathi. Dhavanotsavam took place beautifully at Poundarikapuram Srimad Andavan Ashramam, Sri Vedanta Desikar Sannadhi, East Utthira Veedhi, Srirangam. The utsavam started around 4.30 p.m. The whole mandapam was decorated with Dhavanam. It is a green perfumed leaf which is Perumal’s favourite and grows in plenty during the Tamil month of Masi (February15th- March15th) and Dhavanotsavam is celebrated in several temples during this period . The beautiful golden coloured mandapam with Yoga Hayagrivar in the centre flanked by Garudazhwars in anjalihastham was coverd with green strands of dhavanam. Lord Hayagriva and Andal were brought to the mandpam. Godha goshti opened the utsavam with Hayagriva stotram chanting followed by Prabhandha Parayanam and satrumurai. Lot of astikas took part in the dhavana utsavam and had the blessings of Sri Andal and Sri Hayagreevar.
