Yesterday, September 28, 2015,Manmadha varusha purattasi Uthirattathi; Pavitrotsavam at Sri Vedantha Desikar Devasthanam (SVDD), Mylapore commenced in a grand manner. The pavithrotsavam is done according to Agama Shastras. The Homa Gundams were decorated with kolam and kept ready with Poorna kumbham on a raised mandapams. Lord Srinivasa with his Ubhayanachiyars and Swami Desikan were beautifully and elegantly decorated with thiruvabharanams in kannadi arai to witness the Homa ongoings for next 7 days. Several devotees witnessed and offered pradakshanams to whole area covered for Pavitrotsavam, Veda Parayana ghoshti, Nalayira Dhivya Prabhanda goshti and Sri Ramanyana parayanams. Many Bhakthas took part in the homam conducted on day 1 of Pavithrotsavam and had the blessings of Divyadampatis.
