The presiding deity of the Mathuramangalam Temple is Sri Vaikunta Perumal with his consorts Sridevi and Bhoomi Devi. There is a separate shrine for Sri Kamalavalli Thayar. The temple is about 65 km from Chennai and around 20 km from Sriperumbudur, near Sunguvar Chatram. Thirukarthigai Deepam was celebrated in a grand manner at this temple. Perumal along with His Consorts had beautiful alangaram and in the evening Thirukarthigai Deeepam was lit in all the sannadhis and witnessed the burning of Sokkapanai followed by Purappadu. Many Bakthas participated and received the blessings of Divyadampathis.
