Irapathu of Thiruadhyayana Utsavam was celebrated in a grand manner at Varadaraja Perumal Devasthanam, Salem. On December 28th 2015, being Day 8 Utsavam, in the evening Sri Varadaraja Perumal had Kudhirai Vahanam followed by Purappadu and Vedupari Utsavam was performed. Grand satrumurai and sevakalam took place with arulicheyal and Parayana Ghosti and Azhwar mariyathai was performed. In this temple, the story of ‘Vedupari’ is enacted every year as part of the eighth day celebrations of the Irapathu festival.This day is dedicated to Thirumangai Azhwar in recognition of his contribution to the Nalayira Divya Prabhandam. Thousands of devotees thronged to have dharshan of Sri Varadaraja Perumal and Azhwar and received the blessings.
