Shree Sundararya Mahadesikan is the Kootasthar of Eachambadi Vamsam. He was called “Eesandan”, “Azhagapiran”, “Thirumaliruncholai Dasar”.
He was one of the foremost disciples of Sri Alavandar. He was the one who taught “Nrusimha Mahamanthram” to Bhagavath Ramanuja, as seen though his VazhiThirunamam.
Eechampadi Jeer and EEchampadi Aachan are sons of “Eesandan”, who were part of 74 Simhaasana Adhipathis, installed by Sri Bhagavad Ramanujar for propagating Visishtadvaitha sidhantham. Eesandan’s sons become disciples of Bhagavath Ramanujar. Eechampadi Jeer was Yathi and Eechampadi Aachan was grahasthar. Later the generations migrated and settled in various kshetrams like Thiruvallur, Madhurantakam, Sriperumbudur, thiruvaheendrapuram, Garudapuram etc.. and associated themselves with those Kshetrams. Famous scholors like Maduranthkam Swami and his acharyan Garudapuram Swami (Yathi) were all Eechampadi Vamsathar.
