Ankurarpanam ritual has been performed with religious fervour in the temple of Sri Kodandarama Swamy in Tirupati on April 3rd 2016 evening.

As a prelude to the annual brahmotsavams, Ankurarpanam or the “sacred seed sowing ritual” is performed at 6.30pm in Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple wherein nine types of holy seeds in earthen containers have been sowed in holy soil (Mrisangrahana). This ritual signifies the beginning of festival in the temple. This is followed by recital of vedic hymns.

Later Sri Vishwaksena Swamy has been taken around the four mada streets in a grand procession. The celestial warrior has invited all the three crore deities to take part in the nine-day mega religious event of his Supremo Master.
