Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) observed religious event of “Sri Rama Navami Astanam” in the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on April 15th 2016. The Temple priests performed Snapana Tirumanjanam (Celestial Bath) to Processional Deities of Lord Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana, Anjaneya Swamy at Ranaganayakula Mandapam inside Sri Vari Temple in the morning. On this important festival day, the processional deity of Lord Sri Rama is taken on a procession in the four mada streets on Hanumantha Vahanam. Later on their return to the temple, the temple priests performs special rituals. The pundits read out “Sri Rama Jananam” in Sri Rama Navami Asthanam, that which takes place near Bangaru Vakili in the night at around 10pm.

Hanuman is considered as an embodiment of Wisdom, Muscle power, success, Braveness, health, over active, fearless and common sense. One of the hillocks on the Tirumala hill range is also named as Anjanadri. He is also known as Vayu Putra of Anjana born out of power of ‘tapas’, Hanuman.
