Durmukhi Chitrai Avittam (May 1st 2016) was the first day celebrations of Ramanuja Jayanthi at Kanchi Varadaraja Perumal temple. We will be celebrating the 1000th year of the advent of Bhaghavadh Bashyakarar the Acharya unparalleled, the merciful lord who showed us the path to get release from the cycle of births and deaths.
At Kanchi Varadaraja Perumal koil Bhaghavadh Bashyakarar sannidhi is housed in the Azhwar praakaram that is the prakaram around the dwajha sthambam. Artistes are offering their music at Ramanuja sannidhi between 3.30 p.m. and 5.30p.m. Devotees visiting Kanchipuram can avail of this opportunity and enjoy the music offerings along with Ramanuja darsanam. Incidentally Bhaghavadh Bashyakarar’s Tirunakshatram is on the 10.05.2016 .
