The annual Pushpayaga Mahotsavam taken up by TTD in the ancient temple of Lord Sri Govindaraja Swamy at the pilgrim city of Tirupati enthralled the devotees on 13th June 2016.. The floral bath lasted nearly four hours amidst the chanting of vedic verses from scriptures by temple priests. About five tonnes of various variety of flowers were offered on the deities of Lord Sri Govindaraja accompanied by His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi.

The flowers were later distributed as ‘prasadam’ to the devotees, who thronged the temple to witness the new ‘seva’. This ritual is usually performed to overcome the sins committed either knowingly or unknowingly by temple priests, officials, staff and devotees during brahmotsavams or nitya kainkaryams.
