ThirumaniKoodam is one of the Divyadesam located near Seerkazhi. The Moolavar of this Divyadesam is Sri Varadharaja Perumal. Also known as Manikooda Nayagan. He is giving his seva in Nindra (Standing) Thirukkolam in facing his thirumugham towards east direction. He is found with Four hands on the Aadhiseshan. Prathyaksham for Lord Chandran.
The temple was sung by sri Thirumangai Azhwar. The temple is under the control of Hereditary Trustees. The annual festival to this emperuman to be held from 27.6.2016 to 6.7.2016 with 4000 divya prabandha sevai and sathumarai. For this utsavam we have few upayadars. The following expenses are to be incurred by us for which we have no upayadars.

THIRUMANIKOODAM- THALAVARALARU
Dakshaka had 27 daughters and he wanted them to marry the same person. Chandran (moon) agreed to marry and treat all of them equally.As promoised , but chandran was partial to rohini. The others complained their father. Dakshaka cursed chandran to lose his lustre. After his penance at thiru-indalur and thalachanga naanmathiyam. But lord mahavishnu advised him to go to palasavanam and do penance.Lord mahavishnu further said that lord siva also would join them and meditate on him. Again Chandran did penance here and had a bath in the Pushkarini and prayed to perumal . He was cured of his disease. The Pushkarini is even today called “CHANDRA PUSHKARINI”. This perumal is considered to be equivalent to Kanchi Varadharajar since the perumal full fills all wishes of his devotees.
It is believed that all types of disease can be cured here who worship this lord and perform special pooja continuously 6 months on star Poosam. It is also believed that the couple without children could pray to the perumal and perform special pooja on star poosam continuously 6 months to full fill their wishes of a child.
The annual festival to be held from 25.6.2019 to 4.7.2019 with 4000 divya prashansa sevai and sathumarai
