On 6th November 2016, Ankurarpanam was celebrated in the evening at Tirumala Lord Malayappa Swamy Temple. The traditional mritsangrahanam was performed where putta mannu was collected and Navadhanyas were sowed in mud pots at Yagashala.
On 7th November 2016, Pushpayagam which was celebrated after annual Srivari brahmotsavams in the month of Karthika which falls in October or November every year on the holy day of Shravana Nakshatram which happens to be the birth star of Lord Venkateswara. Later Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed with milk, coconut water, curd, honey, turneric and sandal paste in a spiritual manner chanting Sri, Bhu, Purusha Suktams.
About seven tonnes of various traditional and ornamental flowers which were used in Pushpayagam were brought to the temple in a ceremonious procession from Garden department. After the snapanam, the deities were decorated in new silk clothes and Pushpayagam was performed in a ceremonious way with 18 types of different varieties of flowers including lilies, chrysanthemum, Roses, Maruvam, Damanam, Pachhaku, Mogali etc. The celestial fete completed till the deities were immersed bed of flowers upto neck depth.
