Avani Swathi marks the Thiruavathara Utsavam of Thiruvellukai Sri Azagiyasinga Perumal. In this Hevilambi varusham, the annual mahotsavam took place on a grand note on August 27, 2017. Perumal alongwith Ubhaya Nachiyars had purappadu in the morning, followed by a grand sathumurai and goshit viniyohams. Perumal decorated with the best thiruvabharanams and flower garlands stole the hearts of many astikas who had flocked the temple on this auspicious day.
