Aippasi Sadayam marks the avatara mahotsavam of Swami Peyazhwar. Sri Vedanata Desikar Devastanam (SVDD) Sri Srinivasa Perumal kovil celebrated Swami’s Avatara mahotsavam in a grand manner for ten days from 21-10-2017 till 30-10-10-2017. Swami Peyazhwar enjoyed thiruveedhi purapadu daily morning and with Sevakalam and satrumurai daily morning and evening. On the final day of the ten day utsavam, i.e on Aippasi Sadayam Swami Peyazhwar did mangalasasanam at all the sanadhies and ” digh-mangalasasanam ” of various divya desams. Later thirumanjana kudam purappadu and Swami Peyazhwar Ulpurappadu took place due to heavy rain. In the evening, Sri Srinivasa Perumal, Sri Alermelmangai Thayar and Swami Peyazhwar Pathi ula was conducted, followed by a separate pathi ula for Swami Peyazhwar. After the Pathi ula Perumal and azhwar ul-purapadu took place due to heavy rain. With a grand Vedha and Prabhandha Satrumurai the avatara mahotsavam came to an end. Gandhapodi Vasantham purppadu took place the next day (October 31, 2017) early morning.

Madama Mylai is the avatara stalam of Peyazhwar. His avataram took place near a well, which is situated near present day Arundale street, Mylapore. Peyazhwars from Sri Madhava Perumal kovil and Sri Adi Kesava Perumal kovil visit the well every Aippasi Sadayam. Meanwhile, a well in SVDD (Sri Vedanta Desikar Devastanam, Sri Srinivasa Perumal kovil) has a small niche with a vigraham of Peyazhwar in it. This small vigraham has been placed there out of pure devotion and love towards Peyazhwar and to let the world know about his avatara vaibhavam. Every year during azhwar thirunakshatram the vigraham inside the well in SVDD is decorated with new vastrams and flowers. Volunteers from Sripadham tangigal association have been doing this kainkaryam every year. As usual, this year also a volunteer from the Sripadham thangigal association performed the thirumanajnam and offered fresh cloths and garland to the Peyazhwar.

The following are some of the photographs taken on Hevilambi Aippasi Sadayam (October 30, 2017)…
