As a part of Panguni utsavam at Thiruvazhundur (Therazhundur) Divya Desam, on 31st March 2018, (Hevilambi Panguni-Uthiram), the grand celebration of thirukalyana utsavam took place. On that evening, Sri Amaruviyappan and Sengamalavalli Nachiyaar had a gorgeous alangram with huge anemone and jasmine garlands decorated their shoulders. Both of them looked more charming than any other days in a green and blue colored vasthram for Thayar and Perumal respectively. Thirukalyanam took place in the traditional way of Oonjal, Malai maatral and finally the Maangalya dharanam was performed.
On 28th March, 2018 (Panguni-Hastham) the sixth day of Panguni Utsavam celebrated grandly in Therazhundhur Sri Amaruviyappan Temple. For that day’s event Sengamalavalli Thayar had a beautiful alangaram with Jasmine garlands and glittering jewels. She blessed all her devotees by the procession done on golden gaja vahanam. On the 7th day of Utsavam (Panguni-Chithirai), Sengamalavalli thayar dressed up as Gajalakshmi with eye pleasing white colored vasthram and purappadu took place on a padi chattam.
For the next day utsavam (Panguni-Swathi), Thayar had an adorbale alangaram as ever. She dressed up in an auspicious combination of Red with white colored vasthram. The day’s speciality was the Golden Ratham which shines brightly equal to a sun light. Thayar ascended on that beautiful thiruther and thiruveedhi purappadu took place with lots of devotees participated in vadam pidithal and received the blessings of thayar on that occasion.
