Chithirai Brahmotsavam commenced in a grand manner at Thiruvallikeni Sri Parthasarathy Perumal Temple on April 29 2018 (Chithirai-chithra) with Dwajarohanam. In the morning, Sri Parthasarathy Perumal with his Consorts had beautiful alangaram followed by Thiruveethi Purappadu on Dharmadhipeedam. Later in the evening, Sri Parthasarathy Perumal had Venugopalan Thirukolam followed by Pathi Ulaathal. In the night, grand satrumurai took place with paasurams of Madhurakavi Azhwar (Kanninun siruthambu) on account of Azhwar’s Thirunakshatram (Chithiraiel-chithrai) who had sung only about Swami Nammazhwar and attained the position of Azhwar. Day 1 concluded with the purappadu of Madhurakavi Azhwar along with Perumal purappadu which was done on Punnai Mara Vaahanam. Many devotees participated in the event and received the blessings of Divyadampathis and Azhwar.
On the second day (30th April 2018(Chithirai-Swathi)), Sri Parthasarathy Perumal and His consorts had a beautiful alangaram and the purappadu took place on golden Shesha Vahanam. Both the thayars gave dharshan in purple colored vasthram. Perumal wore a light pink vasthram with red border and adorned jewels and garlands in Paramapathanathar thirukkolam. Then in the evening, thiruveethi purappadu of Sri Perumal took place on golden Simha Vahanam. Many devotees participated in the Brahmotsavam to have darshan of Divyadampathis and received the blessings.
