On 27th August 2018 (Srivilambi Aavani Sadhayam), ThiruPavithrotsavam commenced in a grand manner at Sri Sowmya Damodara Perumal Temple, Villivakkam. Special homam was performed and Perumal was decorated beautifully with Muthangi sevai. With saaya kondai, flower garland, stone fixed ornaments Thayars had a great alankaram. Perumal along with His consorts adorned beautiful pavithrams. Grand satrumurai and sevakalam took place with arulicheyal and veda parayana ghosti. Several astikas participated in the 1st day of the Pavithrotsavam and had the blessings of Sri Sowmya Damodara Perumal.
