In poorvashramam, HH 12th Srimad Andavam was known as Dr Shri Srimushnam Vangipuram Yamunachariar. HH was the 3rd son in Poorvasrama of HH Srimad Srimushnam Andavan. Shri Yamunachariar Swami qualified as a PhD from BharathiDasan University in 2009 after qualifying as Vyakarana Siromani (1989), MA (Sanskrit) (2000) & MPhil from BharathiDasan University (2002). Yamunachariar Swami has undergone extensive Kalakshepams (Grantha Chatushtyam) under great srivaishnavaite scholars & saints like HH Srimad Thirukkudanthai Andavan Swami (9th Peetathipathi of Srimad Andavan Asramam) renowned as the Tiruppavai Jeer, HH Srimad Srimushnam Andavan (11th Andavan Swami) & Late Padma Bhushan Dr Shri NS Ramanuja Tatachariar Swami (Retd VC of Sanskrit Vidya Peetam at Tirupati, recipient of ‘President of India’ award for great sanskrit scholars & “Chevalier” award – highest civilian award for foreigners by French Government) et al. The Swami’s PhD thesis is in Mimamsa Sastra by researching on a book by late Shri Tirupputkuzhi Swami on Shri Kumarila Bhattar’s Mimamsa: the Swami is well versed is Sanskrit & Tamizh.
HH Srimad Srimushnam Andavan has performed Manthropadesams (Preksha Mantram) to Shri Yamunachariar many years ago, a pre-requisite for taking Sannyasa. HH Srimad Srimushnam Andavan had also instructed 4 Sishyas that in the event of any danger of the Peetam being vacant, they should ensure that Sri Yamunan must be considered.
