On 30th October 2018 (Srivilambi Varusha Aippasi Thiruvadhirai), Pavithrotsavam or purification ceremony commenced at Sri Satyavaradaraja Perumal Temple, Arumbakkam in a grand manner. As the name indicates, it is the purification ceremony which is conducted to get rid of the mistakes (nivarthi) that occur in the daily worship and other religious rites performed in the temple.
On this occasion, special Homam was conducted in the morning and evening amidst Vedam and Arulicheyal Parayanam. Perumal with his consorts had a great alankaram and adorned colourful Pavithra malais. Several astikas took part in the Thirupavithrotsavam and had blessings of Divyathampathis.
