Thirunakshatra mahotsavam celebrations of Sri Vedantha Desikan commenced on 06 October 2021 in a grand manner in Sri Sengamalavalli sametha Sri Amaruviappan Perumal temple at Therezhundur. Alankaram, Aradhanam, ull purappadu, Sattrumurai took place every day.
During the Avatara utsavam of Swamy Desikan, navarathri utsavam also coincides . Celebrations are performed very enthusiastically for Thayar and Swamy Desikan. Swamy Desikan’s alankaram is similar to that of Perumal brahmotsavam. Alankaram was beautifully performed with various combinations of pushpam and abharanams. On Vijayadasami , Swami Thirunakshatram-Shravanam was celebrated in a very grand manner. In the night, Paruvettai was conducted which was enthralling. Swami was mounted on Horse Vahanam and did paruvettai, showering arrows on all the directions,which was done by bhattar on behalf of Swami, signifying that, he destroys all the evils against the devotees, and save the devotees who surrender to Him.
