Navarathri utsavam celebrations commenced on 06 October 2021, in Sri Pushpavalli Thayar sametha Sri VaradharajaPerumal temple at Poonamallee.
This temple is believed to be worshipped by Sun and Angaragan(Mars). Thirukachinambigal, who used to serve perumal in kanchi, Srirangam and tirupathi. As per the instructions of Kanchi Varadharajaperumal, he created a nandhavanam in Poonamallee and took flower daily to Kanchi Varadharajaperumal. When he could not walk, Perumal gave darshan to Thiruikachimnambigal in this temple as Varadharajaperumal and SriRanganathan simultaneously.
Nine days utsavam was conducted in a grand manner. Navarathri utsavam alankaram was beautifully performed with various combinations of pushpam and thayar is adorned so beautifully in different silk attires and varieties of abharanams.
