Unjal utsavam is celebrated for SriRanganayaki in Sri Ranganathaswami temple at Srirangam. Everyday, Thayar comes in preocession from Sannidhi to the unjal mandapam. Thayar is adorned in different alankaram everyday. Utsavam was celebrated in a very grand manner for seven days since 06 November 2021.
On Day-6, 11 November 2021, Thayar was adorned in silk garments of red and blue combination, with Abhaya Hastham made of precious stones. Kaasu maalai sathupadi on the saree added beauty as a whole. Flowers adorned on Kireedom and her smiling face looked so beautiful. Flower garland is made of Vrikshi flowers dominating other flowers of jasmine and dhavanam matching the silk saree worn by Thayar.
Sathupadi today, which justifies the quality of Thayar in Ashtotranaama “Adityai Namah” – Radiant Like The Sun. From this naama, we can conclude that the jewels worn by her got the shine from the radiance of thayar, that’s why looking beautiful.
As she is our Lokamatha, she bears the burden of all the activities in the Earth, which could be seen in her smiling face in today’s sathupadi which reminds us of her other kalyana gunam :- ”Vasundharinyai namaha”
