Thirukarthikai Deepam was celebrated in a grand manner in Sri Vaidya Veeraraghavaswami temple at Tiruvallur.
Tirukarthikai Deepam Sokkappanai- dried Palm leaves were bundled and lit by fire during the festival in front of the temple, in the presence of Sri Perumal during His purappadu to witness this event.
Perumal along with His consorts blessed the devotees during Purappadu. Purappadu of Sri Thirumangai Azhwar also took place on the occasion of his thirunakshatram. Thirumangai Azhwar Sattrumurai was performed in the temple and Azhwar was felicitated by the prasadam from Divya dampathis.
