On 08 December 2021, Sravanam; Theppotsavam took place in Sri Marakathavalli Sametha Sri Deepaprakasar Perumal temple at Thoopul in a very grand manner.
Alankaram was performed with silk attires, kadambam maalai, thiruvabharanams, and beautiful kondai alankaram for both Perumal and Thayar. Alankaram for Sri Desikan with Muthu Kireedom, Diamond dollar, kadambha maalai looked fantastic. Being Sravanam, Swami Desikan’s Thirunakshatram, felicitation was done with maalai mariyadhai and Sri Sadari by Archakas from Sri Deepaprakasar Perumal and Sri Maragadhavalli Thayar.
Theppotsavam took place in the Saraswathi Theertham(Thirukulam) which is located outside the temple premises.
Vilakkoli Perumal along with Sridevi, Bhoodevi Ubhaya Nachiyars, Sri Marakadhavalli Thayar, Sri Vedantha Desikan came in procession to Theppam(pond) and adorned the decorated mandapam inside the pond and came around the pond with few archakas and astikas. Deepa Harathi was performed and that was a blissful moment for the devotees assembled there.
