On 15 January 2022 – Kanu Utsava Sattrumurai took place in Vanamamalai mutt.
Theerthavari for Perumal and Thayar took place in Settruthamarai Pushkarani in a grand manner. As Vanamamalai mutt is considered to be the parents’ home for Sri Varamangai Thayar, Sri Ponnadikaal Jeer welcomed thayar along with Perumal, who came in pallakku, in the entrance of the mutt. Vishesha Thaligai was prepared for thadhiyaradhanai on the day. On this auspicious day, Sri Varamangai Naachiyar and Sri Deivanayaga Perumal visited Sri Mutt and blessed the Aasthikas with the great ‘Makara Kandigai’ sevai -wearing varieties of thiruvabharanams. Sri Deivanayaga Perumal and Sri Varamangai Nachiyar took rest and then bid farewell to Jeeyar and went to the temple.
