On occasion of Ratha sapthami, Sri Sowmya damodara Perumal purappadu took place in the morning and in the evening. After a year long restriction for purappadu due to covid situation, Purappadu took place in four mada streets of the temple afresh from this auspicious day. All the devotees, along with Sripada thangis and the archakas enthusiastically and actively participated in the utsavam.
In the morning, Perumal along with SRidevi, Bhoodevi nachiyars came in procession and blessed the devotees in Surya Prabhai Vahanam. In the evening, Perumal mounted on Chandra prabhai Vahanam, Purappadu took place in all the four mada streets.
Devotees had a blissful darshan on this auspicious day.
