Masi Brahmotsavam is being celebrated in a very grand manner for the past few days, in Sri Rukmini samedha Sri Parthasarathy Perumal temple at Tiruvellikeni since 20 February 2022.
On day-9, Perumal came in pallakku, which was celebrated as “All Mel Pallakku” in which Perumal hids Himself with nine shawls, as He moves out of the sannidhi without the knowledge of ubhaya nachiyars, in search of a ring which is lost during the previous day. During Vedupari utsavam, during the event of “Thirumangai mannan atkollal”, it is believed that Perumal lost His ring. The next day is celebrated as pallakku utsavam in which he goes to the same place in search of the ring. As he wore nine shawls, one by onewas removed, which was celebrated as “Porvai Kalaithal utsavam”. On His way back to the sannidhi, caught red-handed by ubhaya nachiyars, who were furious on Perumal for moving out without any informing, “Mattayadi utsavam” was conducted.
Later, Perumal thirumanjanam was performed in the Thirumanjana mandapam and after alankaram, thirumbukaal purappadu took place towards the sannidhi. After many years, Chakrathazhwar theerthavari was performed in Kairavini tank.
In the evening, Sri Parthasarathy Perumal Paththi Ulathal and oyyali took place.
