On April 15, 2014, on the occasion of Chitra Pournami at Sri Srinivasa Perumal of Sri Vedantha Desikar Devasthanam (SVDD), Mylapore, Chennai, the annual procession to T.Nagar took place in a grand manner. Perumal left for T. Nagar on the day of Chitra Pournami at 00:30 hrs from the temple with Veda Parayanam Ghoshti to Venketasawara Kalyana Mandapam in Panagal Park in Menapotti. On His way, a number of Mandapadis were there around T.Nagar and Perumal reached the Kalyana Mandapam at 10:30 hrs after which thirumanjanam was performed. Then around 4:30 pm Perumal proceeded again to a number of mandapadis in Panagal Park and Pondy Baazar in tholinkiniyan and returned to the mandapam at 10 pm. Then Perumal proceeded to the temple once again in Menapotti and reached by 11:30pm. Several astikas were present along the way and in T. Nagar and had the blessings of Perumal.
