A ride on the golden chariot (Swarna Ratham) by Goddess Padmavathi marked the second day of the three-day ‘Vasanthotsavam’ at Tiruchanur on May 21st 2016.
Hundreds of women devotees pulled the mammoth wooden chariot along the four streets encircling the temple, by chanting the ‘Govinda and Padmavathi Nama’. The procession lasted for an hour.
Later in the afternoon, ‘Snapana Tirumanjanam’ (celestial bath) was given to the deity of Padmavathi, at the Friday Gardens situated opposite the temple. Meanwhile this religious fete is performed during the spring season to give a soothing relief to the deity.
