Today June 25, 2017 (Hevilambi Aani Punarpoosam), the annual Brahmotsavam at Sri Sathyanarayana Temple, West Mambalam, Chennai, commenced in a grand manner with Dwajarohanam in the morning. Sri Sathyanarayana Perumal along with Ubhaya Nachiyars had thiruveedhi purappadu thereafter. Perumal was accompanied by Senai Mudalvar, Aadi Seshan and Garudan. Sudarsana Azhwar in a separate palki (small) took the lead during the purappadu. Later in the evening of Day 1, Perumal had purappadu on Hamsa vahanam.
On the previous evening, Senai Mudalvar had thiruveedhi purappadu prior to the commencement of the utsavam. For utsavam details, please visit Pathrigai.
