Garuda Panchami was celebrated on August 11th this year (2013). This day is celebrated on Sukla Paksha of Aadi month. At Tirumala, Sri Malayappaswamy (utsavamoorthy) had purappadu on Garuda Vahanam in the evening yesterday. HH Srimath Srimushnam Andavan Sri Rangaramanuja Maha Desikan, who is observing Chaturmasya Vratam at Tirumala, offered mangalasasanam to Perumal on Garuda Vahanam.
