Avani month begins today, the 17th of August 2013. This month has lot of significance such as, Yajur Upakarma, Sri Jayanthi, etc.. The athidevathai for this month is Sridharan. Avani Rohini is the thirunakshathram of Kumara Varadacharya- son of Swami Vedanta Desikan. Gadikasatham Ammal thirunakshatram falls on Aavani Thiruvonam. Periyavachan pillai thirunakshatram is on Aavani Rohini. Aavani hastham marks the avathara dhinam of the Ramanuja dayapathram thanniyan about Swami Desikan. Aavani Hastham is also the thirunakshatram of HH 44th Pattam Azhagiyasingar (Mukkur Azhagiyasingar). Aavani Poorataathi is the Thirunakshatram of Srimath Vazhuthur Andavan and Srimath Therazhundur Andavan. Aavani Revathi, Thirunakshatram of Srimath Thenbirai Andavan, Aavai pooram thirunakshatram of Srimath Mysore Andavan, Aavani moolam – thirunakshatram of Srimath Kadanthethi Andavan.
