Today September 2, 2013; Vijaya Aavani Pushyam is the 43rd Day of HH 46th Srimath Azhagiyasingar, Srivan Sathakopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Maha Desikan’s Chathurmasya sankalpam.
Being Dwadashi, Abhigamanam and Ijya Aradhanam was done in the morning itself. After Thaligai offering, Padhuka aradhanam was done by Srimath Azhagiyasingar. This was followed by Theertham and Srisathari. This was followed by Padhuka theertham which HH gives to each devotee seated on the Swarna Simhasanam. Devotees queue up place their offerings (kannikai), accept theertham, take it to the side and partake it (devotees are advised not to partake theertham as soon as they receive it as there is a chance of theertham splashing on HH). By the time Padhuka theertham was over, it was about 10.30 am. There was a sizeable crowd for paranai which followed immediately. Evening there will be Pradosha Aradhanai. Yesterday a shishya had the bhagyam of having dolai done on the day of their Grihapravesham. Srimath Azhagiyasingar said that while devotees go seeking Bhaghavan, our Dolai Kannan comes seeking bhakthas, Sukriths get the bhagyam of having Him along with Srimath Azhagiyasingar in their houses.
Two Srimath Azhagiyasingars have taken avatharam under Pushya nakshatra: HH 36th Srimath Azhagiyasingar and HH 37th Srimath Azhagiyasingar. HH 36th Srimath Azhagiyasingar, SriVan Sathakopa Sri Srinivasa Mahadesikan, took avatharam on an Aadi Pushyam day at Parandhur agraharam in Kanchipuram. He was called to Sanyasam in Sarvadhari Aadi Swathi day (August 13, 1888). Among many qualifications HH was outstanding in SriBhashya Kalakshepam. When HH attained Paramapadha Prapthi in Vilambhi Margazhi Pournami day (December 27, 1898) SriMushnam Swami exclaimed that “Sri Bashyam was gone!” His Brindavanam is at Padur agraharam. HH was in asthanam for 10 years and 4months.
HH 37th Srimath Azhagiyasingar, Sri VeeraRaghava Sathakopa Yathindra Mahadesikan took avatharam on Krodhi Masi Pushyam day at Pillaipakkam (March 1845). HH was called to sanyasam in Vilambi Thai(January 31, 1899). HH attained Paramapada prapthi on Vikari Margazhi Purnima day. HH was in asthanam for 11 months and Brindavanam is at Sri Nrisimhapuram.
