Vijaya varusha Pavithrotsavam at Sri Parthasarathy Perumal Thirukkoil, Thiruvallikeni commenced on September 13, 2013 (Friday) with Ankurarpanam. Yesterday (September 15, 2013) and today (September 16, 2013) were Day 1 & 2 of the utsavam respectively. The 7-day utsavam will conclude on September 20, 2013 (Friday).
Pavitrotsavam is the most important mahayagnyam in a perumal temple. Its sacred than a Mahasamprokshanam because it eradicates all the doshams in a temple through out the year and fulfills the Thiruvaradhanam of SriBhagawan in that year. Its phalans are innumerous.
During the utsavam this year, utsavar thirumanjanam will take place in the morning at 9 am followed by PradhanaHomam at 10.30 am. Poornahuti will take place between 11:45 am and 12 noon. In the evening, thiruveedhi purappadu for Utsavar will take place at 7.00 pm. Pradhanahomam and poornahuthi will take place till 9:00 pm. On the concluding day, the utsavam will go on till 12 midnight.
Astikas in and around the area may make it convenient to attend the utsavam and receive the blessings of Sri Parthasarathy Perumal.
