Thiruvahindrapuram Navarathri & Swami Desikan Thirunakshatra Utsavams: Day 4&5

As part of the ongoing Navarathri Utsavam and Swami Desikan Purattasi Brahmotsavam at Thiruvahindrapuram Sri Devanathan Sannidhi, on October 8, 2013, Day 4 and 5 of the two respective utsavams were celebrated in a grand manner.

In the morning, Swami Desikan blessed everyone with Nachiyar Thirukolam. In the evening, it was an enthralling experience for Swami Desikan’s bhaktas to see KavithArkika Simham on Simha Vahanam. On feisty look, one could not see any distinction between Swami Desikan on Simha Vahanam and Sri Devanathan on Garuda Vahanam. In the evening, Sri Devanathan Perumal gave serthi sevai with Sri Hemambhujavalli Thayar in Thayar sannidhi. The Navarathri Utsavam for Sri Devanathan Perumal and Sri Hemambhujavalli Thayar is taking place since October 5th, 2013.

As mentioned earlier, the highlight of these two Vaibhavams (Swamy Desikan Brahmotsavam and Navarathri) when they come together in a year is that Swami Desikan gets a special Magalasasana Mariyaadhai (Maalai worn by Sri Devanatha Swamy and His Sri Sataari Mariyaadhai) during Sri Devanatha Swamy’s stay at Sri Thayar Sannidhi for Navarathri Utsavam in the evening. This year Navarathri utsavam started on Day 2 of Swamy Desikan Brahmotsavam. Hence this special treat for Swamy Desikan till Purattasi Sravanam i.e. Thirunakshathram day.
