As part of Swami Desikan’s 746th Thirunakshatra Mahotsavam, today Vijaya varusha Purattasi Avittam (October 14, 2013) was Day 8. Iyarpa satrumurai was done today. Veda and Divya Prabhandha parayanam began at 7 am and was over by 10 am. Theertham, Sri Sathari and Prasada viniyogam (dosai and kadalai-paruppu sundal) took place immediarely afterwards. Last evening, there was purappadu for Dasavatharan sannidhi Swami Desikan within the sannidhi premises. Today being Vijaya Dasami, Nammperumal left early in the morning for Kattazhagiasingar koil. Nammperumal will return to Moolasthanam at 8.45 pm after the bow and arrow utsavam at Singar koil in the evening.
In continuation of Swami Desika Anubhavam, while Swami was in Kanchipuram, Pundarikakshar (Thirukumaran of Pillan) who was in the court of Vijayanagar was married to Appular’s daughter. Pundarikakshar visited Kanchi to see the baby boy born to the couple. At that time, Pundarikakshar gave Swami Desikan the archa divya mangala vigraham of Hayagreevan worshipped by Ramanuja and Pillan and Pundarikakshar. Swami Desikan worshipped Hayagriva along with Perarulan who had been worshipped by Swami’s ancestors. From Kanchi Swami went on Thiruvenkata yatra and did Mangalasasnam to Alarmelmangai Thayar, Govindaraja Perumal, Varahaswami on the banks of Swami Pushkarni and Srinivasa Perumal. Overcome by His mercy Swami composed “Daya Sathakam” and “Prasamitha Kali dosham………”
Next Swami went on a pilgrimage to North India. Swami visited Dwaraka, Vrindavan, Mathura, Gokulam, Mathura, Haridwar, Ayodhya, SriKurmam, Puri, Ahobilam, ThiruVenkatam, Thiruvallur, Thinnanur, Thiruallikeni, Thirukadalmaalai and Sri Perumbudur. Then Swami returned to Kanchi and did mangalasanams to Perundevi Thayar and Varadaraja Perumal and continued Siddhantha Pravachanams.
