New Delhi Sri Venkateswara Mandir Purattasi Brahmotsavam Concludes

Purattasi Brahmotsavam at New Delhi Sri Venkateswara Perumal Thirukkoil concluded on October 14th, 2013 with Dwadasa Aradhanam in the morning and Dwajavarohanam in the evening. On the previous day (Day 9 of the utsavam), pallakku purappadu and pranayakalaham and theethavari took place followed by satha kalasa thirumanjanam in the morning and Chapparam purappadu took place in the evening. Being Swami Desikan’s thirunakshatram, Thirumanjanam for Swami Desikan also took place along with Sri Srinivasar and Ubhaya Nachiyars in front of Thayar Sannadhi. On Day 8, purappadu for Perumal in Vennai Thazhi Thirukolam took place in the morning followed by Thotti Thirumanjanam (in front of Andal Sannadhi) and Kudhirai Vahanam purappadu in the evening followed by visesha sayanam. On Day 7, Rathotsavam took place in the morning. On Day 6, purappadu in Venugopala Sevai and on Gaja Vahanam took place in the morning and evening respectively. On the evening of Day 5, purappadu for Sri Srinivasar took place on Yali vahanam.

The utsavam commenced on October 4, 2013 with Ankurarpanam. On the previous day, Senaimudaliyar purappadu took place. On October 5, 2013 which was Day 1 of the utsavam, Dwajarohanam took place in the morning. This was followed by purappdu for Sri Srinivasar and Ubhaya Nachiyars in Chapparam inside the koil prakaram and around the area (RK Puram, New Delhi) gracing people living around the temple.

All the purappadu was led by Prabhandha Ghoshti and followed by Veda Parayana Ghoshti. There was homam and offerings were made to the sacrificial fire both in the morning and evening. The moolavar alankaram was also very special with various ornaments and flower garlands during this time and can be adored and relished only in person.
