Today, November 7, 2013; Vijaya Varusha Aippasi Moolam, there was purappadu for Sri Malayappa Swamy along with Ubhaya Nachiyars on Pedda Sesha Vahanam around the four mada streets on the auspicious day of Nagula Chaviti at Tirumala.

According puranas, Adiseshan is considered to be one of the ardent devotees and disciplined servants of Lord Maha Vishnu. Even there are about eight inscriptions which speak the association and bond between the Lord with that of Serpent King. Adiseshan is also believed to have taken the incarnation of Sri Lakshmana and Sri Balarama during Treta Yuga and Dwapara Yuga respectively.

Adiseshan serves the His master as bed, ornament, umbrella etc. in different occasions. This is the reason why Lord takes on Pedda Sesha Vahanam on the first day even during the nine-day Purattasi Brahmotsavams every year. The following are a couple of photographs of Sri Malayappa Swamy and Ubhaya Nachiyars on Pedda Sesha Vahanam taken during the purappadu
