Kudanthai Kovalan – The Giver of Good Grades In Examination!
Kumbakonam Kathai Veedhi Rajagopalan Perumal is one of the four primary deities of Thirukkudanthai DivyaDesam. The other three deities of this Divya Desam are Sarngapani (Aravamudazhwan) , Chakrapani and Raman. In order to uplift all jeevatmas Perumal exists in this Divya Desam in four forms as Rajagoplan, Raman,Chakrapani and Sarangapani. This Divya Desam ranks 3rd amongst the 108 Sri Vaishnava Tirupathis. Seven of the 12 Azhwar saints have performed mangalasasanam for this Divya Desam. Lord Sarangapani  apperance as Lord Rajagopalan to Nammazhwar enroute to Sri Vaikuntham.

Nammazhwar is the only saint who has recorded the experience of the emancipated soul while being ushered in to the Vaikuntam. The Nithyatmas and the mukthatmas residing at Sri Vaikuntham receive the new entrant by stating, here comes a noble serf of our Lord Kesavan reclining in the deep ocean and shining as our Gopalan with radiant crown at Kumbakonam.
Tradition has it that Lord Sarangapani (Aravamudazhwan) appeared before Nammazhwar as Gopalan , during Nammazhwar”s journey to Vaikuntam. The satellite temple of Rajagopalan is believed to be the place where we are also able to enjoy Lord Sarangapani (Aravamudazhwan) in the form of Gopalan as enjoyed and described by Nammazhwar during his journey to Sri Vaikuntham.
This is an appeal for the support required to complete the construction of Rajagopuram to Sri Rajagopalan Perumal temple of Kumbakonam.

ASTA Trust:
It is sad to note that due to lack of proper funds the temple authorities are facing difficulties in conducting utsavams for Aramudhan Perumal and other three primary Perumals of Thirukudanthai DivyaDesam. Due to lack of funds the temple authorities were unable to facilitate kaimkaryams to Lord Aramudhan. For example due to a shortage of funds to facilitate payments to Sripadams (Sripadams bear Perumal divine vehicles on their shoulders during utsavams), the temple authorities had to use motorised vehicles thus causing damages to the beautiful Utsavar murthy.
Sri U.Ve Karunakaran Swami has set up a trust called ASTA – Aramudhan Sripadam Thangi Anbargal trust to facilitate payments to the Sripadams as well as to finance other Kaimkaryams including the construction of Rajagopuram for Rajagopalan perumal at Thirukuddandai DivyaDesam.
