Manmatha Varusham, the annual Jyeshtabhishekam or Periya Thirumanjanam of Sri Bhaktavatsala Perumal Devasthanam, Thirukkannamangai, will take place on 11th of Aadi month (27-07-2015 Sukhla Paksha Ekadasi) for Periya perumal at Thirukkannamangai. This is a special feature as this periya thirumanjanam for the Moolava Moorthy takes place only once a year. On the same day night Perumal will be going on procession in Golden Garuda vahanam. All bhaagavathaas are requested to take part in this JYESHTABHISHEGAM grand Periya thirumanjanam and in the evening garuda sevai and get the blessings of Sri Bhaktasvatsala Perumal at Thirukkannamangai.
In this divyadesam, Perumal and Thayar(MAHA VISHNU AND MAHALAKSHMI) wedding is performed. There is a bee hive in the Thayar sannadhi. It is said the devas who came for the wedding, stayed back in the form of bees. Daily prayers are offered to the beehive. No devotee is strung by the bees. Since the Thayar(MAHA LAKSHMI) was bathed with holy waters of Darshana Pushkarani before the marriage to Perumal(MAHA VISHNU). She is called Abhisehekavalli.
