On, April 13, 2016, on the ocassion of Durmukhi Varusha pirappu, Sri Amaruviappan Perumal purappadu took place at Sri Amaruviappan Temple in Therazhundur. It took place in the midst of ghoshti. Many astikas took part in the purappadu and had the blessings of Divyadampatis.
Therazhundur (ThiruVazhandur), a Krishnaranya Kshetram, is situated 11 kms West of Mayavaram. A tall and handsome 12 feet Lord DevathiRajan is flanked on his right by Prahalad and on his left by Garuda. Thayar is Sengamala Valli in a separate sannidhi. Thirumangai Azhwar has done mangalasaasanam for this Perumal with 45 Pasurams. Besides Vaikasi Brahmotsavam, Chitrai Raamar Utsavam is celebrated grandly here.
