Kodai Utsavam commenced in a grand manner at Kanchi Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple. On July 6th 2016, in the evening Sri Perumal with His Ubhaya Nachiyars had Purappadu in seperate Kedayams followed by Oonjal Sevai. Grand satrumurai and sevakalam took place in the midst of ghosti parayanam. Many devotees participated in the Kodai Utsavam and received the blessings of Divyadampathis.

Adiyen has a question here, please pardon adiyen’s ignorance, in Srirangam, this festival is conducted during Chittirai (March – April) itself, but in other places, this utsavam happens only during Aani (June – July).. any idea why the summer in TN is still called Vasantham and start of North East monsoon during Aadi is called Greeshmam?
