Madhuranthagam Sri Yerikaatha Ramar Temple Sri Ramanavami Utsavam Part 1

Sri Ramanavami Utsavam was started on 17th March 2018, Hevilambi Panguni 3 (Purattadhi) at Madhuranthakam Sri Yeri Kaatha Ramar temple. On that day, Sri Seetha Lakshmana samedha Sri Ramar had auspicious alangaram with jasmine garlands, along with jewels. Seetha Pirati wore a sandal and reddish coloured vasthram with Rama and Lakshmana had a blue and golden colored vasthram respectively. After that Purappadu took place.

On 18th March 2018Hevilambi Panguni 4(Uthirattadhi), The second day of SriRamanavami Utsavam took place. For that Procession Seetha had a dark green colured saree with Rama and Lakshmana had Red and whitish green coloured vasthram respectively their dresses were adorned closely tied jasmine garland looked like a garland of pearls.

The next day’s (3rd day) function 19th March(Panguni Revathi) started usually with alangaram session. On that occasion, Sri Ramar Seetha and Sri Lakshmana dressed up nicely with Navy blue coloured Vasthram for Sri Seetha, Golden and blue coloured Vasthram for Rama and Lakshmana respectively. The Specialty in alangaram was the ‘Kili Malai’ which adorned Sri Rama’s shoulders. For evening Procession Sri Rama had a great Raja alangaram with Red and Greenish white coloured vasthram which was adorned jewels and eye pleasing big Jasmine garlands.

On the 4th day(Panguni Aswini), Sri Rama had a Sikkuthadai Thirukolam with adorned garlands and jewels which covered the Vasthram.Pearl embedded Reddish coloured crown which adorned Sri Rama’s head. Lots of devotees participated and received the blessings of Sri Seetha Lakshmana samedha Sri Rama.

On 21st March 5th day(Panguni Barani) alangaram resembles Go-Green celebration because all the three processional deities had a Greenish vasthram with Jasmine garland and Kadhamba Maalai which appears in the sequence of color that appears in our National flag.
