On 03 January 2022, Pachai parathal utsavam was celebrated in Sri AndalNachiyar thirukovil at Srivilliputhur. On first day of Adhyayana utsavam, Sri andal nachiyar comes to her Parent’s home, along with her husband Sri Rangamannar. They were welcomed by Vedapiran, the descendants of Sri Periyazhwar. As a feast to the couple, they are served with milk sweet and Bengal gram dhal with jaggery syrup.
In the front yard of Vedapiran’s house, all the green vegetables and vegetables ranging in size from pumpkin to amla and varieties of fruits as well as sugarcane were displayed. This is famously known as Pachai parathal.
