Dhavanotsavam commenced today in Sri Sowmya Damodara Perumal temple at Villivakkam. Sathupadi of Perumal and thayar was in a wonderful manner. Perumal and thayar were in asthanam in Dhavana mandapam, specially decorated near Sri Andal Sannidhi. Dhavana manadapam was decorated with dhavanam leaves, flower garlands, and varieties of fruits like pineapple, pomegranate, varieties of bananas, grapes, guava, mosambi, orange, sapota which made the devotees astonished. The ambience of the dhavana mandapam was wonderful. Serthi twin Purappadu of Perumal and Sri Amirthavalli thayar took place in the praharams inaside the temple premises. All the assembled devotees hada blissful darshan during the first day of dhavanotsavam.
